This Sacra Resin is a Kyphi Ethical Grade and contains all the gems you would expect from this wonderful resin. Kyphi is one of the only companies that only sell premium ethical grade frankincense resins to maintain our sustainability and minimize our foot print for this over harvested tree. There has been no scientific based evidence that suggests sorting frankincense into colors and clarity increases the therapeutic and aromatic properties of this resin. The bark pieces, wood chips and different colors all add to providing a sensational scent. As we push to help our harvesters ban bark stripping and over tapping of these trees, we are delighted in having you join us in the fight to protect these trees.
Red Hojori: A faded red with almost honey orange tone. The red drips come out at the higher parts of the tree.
Green Hojori: The light green bulb that shows itself at the beginning or ending of the tapping.
Black Hojori: Deep dark resinous sap that contains the spicy tones, producing the most raw and sensual scent.
Amber Hojori: A light yellow tinge that escapes the tree between resting periods.
Light the charcoal with matches or lighter for about 20 seconds until it self-ignites. Use tongs to hold it up (never hold it with your fingers alone or you might get burned). Place the lit charcoal in a bowl or any incense burner. The bowl or incense burner should be filled with sand or dirt. Let the charcoal warm for a few minutes. (It turns gray around the edges when it is ready) Now you are ready! Add a small amount of resin on top of the charcoal. The resin will burn and soon release essential, aromatic oils through the smoke. Continue to place resins or powder on charcoal as they burn out and smoke decreases for a continuous burn.
