Frankincense Resin Uses

Posted by Elizabeth Grasse on

Here are three uses of Frankincense.

Frankincense Resin is the most natural and chemical free resin in the world. Resin has been traded as a commodity throughout civilization. From Ancient Egypt, Roman Empire, Greek Empire and right through to modern day Vatican church. Here are 3 ways we have been using resins the same way up until this day.

Calmative

Says Raphael Mechoulam, a co-author of the frankincense study, "We found that incensole acetate, a Boswellia resin constituent, when tested in mice, lowers anxiety and causes antidepressive-like behavior. " Frankincense resin has always been popular with ancient scholars and religious institutions for its ability to awaken the mind during deep meditation and relax individuals during meditation.

Oral Health

Did you know Frankincense Resin has always been the world's oldest chewing gum? Frankincense chewing gum is a safe and low-cost herbal product, applied to improve buccal/oral cavity hygiene by anti-microbial effects which decrease the sources of microbial infection in buccal/oral cavity and support mouth hygiene for all ages

Odour Remover

Frankincense oil is an antiseptic, meaning it helps eliminate bacteria and viruses from your home and clean indoor spaces. The plant has been commonly burned to help disinfect an area and is used as a natural deodorizer. Use it in an essential oil diffuser to help reduce indoor pollution and deodorize and disinfect any room or surface in your home.

Frankincense resin use hasn't changed much for about 5000 years. Whether you intend to use it's properties spiritually, mentally or physically, we hope you enjoy our resin collection from this year's harvest.
